Overview

The location of the restaurant is hidden in a desert neighborhood called Kayenta just 12 miles northwest of St. George. It’s surrounded by mountains of red rocks and the cafe blends right in with its desert landscape. You can also find art galleries and gift shops nearby featuring local artists or you can take a hike on a nearby trail after a good brunch or lunch. There are several Indian petroglyphs close by too!

Value

The portions are huge and should be shared. The food isn’t the highest quality but is decent given the location.

3 most popular dishes

Salmon tacos, Xetava burger, and the Peach glazed chicken.

What I ordered

Salmon tacos, Xetava burger, and Peach glazed chicken.

Food quality

The quality was mixed.  The burger meat came fresh from cattle down the road but the salmon was old.

Salmon tacos:
The salmon was a bit fishy and the tacos overall weren’t flavorful. The cilantro rice was nice but lacked depth. The portions were huge and I tried eating some leftover but the salmon wasn’t palatable.

Xetava burger:
The burger was fresh but was seasoned with southwest seasoning usually reserved for taco meat. The patty was also a bit too thick which overpowered the other flavors of the sandwich, like the dill Havarti. The seasoning of the fries didn’t compliment the flavors of the burger either. I would have just preferred fries with salt.

Peach glazed chicken:
This was the best dish. The chicken was moist and smoky from being charbroiled and the ginger peach compote lightened it up nicely. The Brussel sprouts were spicy but eaten with the chicken, added great flavor.

Ambiance

The space felt low-key and warm. The server was so friendly and warm and made you feel welcome. The views of the desert vistas are mesmerizing and make you want to sit back and relax.

What I liked most

The views, the hospitality, and the freshness of the burger.

What I disliked most

The fishy salmon and not being forewarned about the huge portions. Had we known, we would have split a meal.

The verdict

A fun spot to enjoy some healthier options if you’re in the area. In my opinion. it’s not worth making a special drive out here simply for the food. Well worth it if you’re looking to explore the area.
